Listening: Can I just say... I am so glad to see rain. I loved living in Alaska. I mean, I really seriously loved it, but I sure did miss the rain. Now that I'm in Georgia my daily routine is taking the dog on a walk (IE, my All Star talent), going to the pool for 2 hours (that's about all my little pregnant self can take in this heat), and then coming home and taking an hour or so nap during what always seems to be an afternoon thunderstorm.
Loving: I am loving my new house. It's slow going setting up the house, but here is the living room. It's not huge by any means, but it opens up into the kitchen and I love that. Plus, I'm on a gold kick.
Thinking: I can not believe Vegas is next week! I leave Sunday night because I'm going to the I Teach 1st conference before the TPT conference. I am SO excited and very nervous about meeting everyone... especially at 30 weeks pregnant.
Wanting: So I'm having a baby girl and thus, I'm having some serious cravings for sweet treats. My amazing husband went down to the gas station the other night and got me an ice cream sandwich... one of those heavenly Toll House cookie ones. I'm trying to keep it in check. Is it too soon to ask him to do it again? Thank goodness I passed the Gestational Diabetes test!
Needing: I'm so needing to get ready for Vegas. Do you have any idea how many different sessions I'm supposed to be going to when you combine the I teach 1st ones, TPT ones, and all the incredible meet ups?!?! Do I even know?! The answer is no, but I think it's something crazy... like 30! I have not printed out my handouts or made a schedule aka I'm not ready at all.
All Star: I've been taking my sweet greyhound on daily walks in the mornings before it gets too hot. This is new for us because in Alaska we had a huge yard and his shock collar let him also go into the neighbor's yard to play with their dogs. Here, our yard is small, fenced in, and he doesn't have any little doggy friends. Anyway, we are loving our morning walks. Here is a picture of my sweet dog and my giant baby bump.
Thanks for the encouraging words on blogging. I am learning, little by little, with lots of mistakes along the way. Oh well, I tell my students that mistakes are just an oppurtunity to learn! Good luck with the new little girl on the way!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie! I love your philosophy on mistake making! :)
DeleteWell I beat you at the LAST person to post the Currently for July!! Your summer schedule of dog walks, swimming and naps sounds amazing to me! Love the windows in your living room giving it the open feeling! Oh how I would love to be in Vegas next week. I will live vicariously through ya'll! I say eat as many Tollhouse cookie sandwiches as you want. Your baby girl needs them and you can lose baby weight later! Cute pup!! Have a great time in Vegas!!
ReplyDeleteBridget, you are my kind of lady. Thanks for the support... especially turning the blind eye to my current Tollhouse Cookie sandwich love. :)
DeleteWow--I admire you going to Vegas being 30 weeks pregnant!!! I love your home decor!!!! Is that picture on the right of the couch a picture of birch trees?? If so, where did you get it? I hope that you have a GREAT time in Vegas and congrats on the little girl on the way!!!! :)

Mixing it up in Middle
Lori, those are birch trees speckled in gold. And actually on the other side of the room is MORE birch trees. Having lived in Alaska I am kind of obsessed. The gold one is from Hobby Lobby and the other one (I'll have to post a picture) is from Fred Meyer in Alaska. Check out Etsy... there are lots of birch trees. :)
DeleteI Love your picture with your sweet pup and your even sweeter belly bump!! I am super jealous you are heading to Vegas but I completely respect your dedication going at 30 weeks pregnant!! You go Girl!! I hope your tiny one loves all the Vegas fun! Have a blast!!

It’s Kinder Time
Thanks Kimberlee! Our dog is pretty special I've got to say. He's a little celebrity when we go out walking. I was joking with my husband that I'M the pregnant ONE and I should getting the attention, but everyone always stops to ask what kind of dog is he, and comment on how he's so beautiful, etc. There's always next year for Vegas! :)
DeleteI can't even imagine going to Vegas 30 weeks pregnant! Good for you, girl!! I'm so jealous of you right now because at 29 weeks, I found out that I failed the Gestational Diabetes test :( I didn't even like sweets before I was pregnant but since getting pregnant, all I want is sweets!!! And carbs! And I can't have either!! On the bright side, only 4 more weeks for me!! :) I'm also so impressed that you have your living room set up already! We got our stuff 2 weeks ago and ours still isn't done. Yikes. PCS problems.

Ugh, I am so sorry about GD. That is a pain and it seems to be kind of random on who gets it. Four more weeks though... now that is something to celebrate! I can't wait to see pictures!
